The Drinking Driver Program (DDP) is operated by the Council under the guidelines of the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles and is for persons convicted of DWI or DWAI.
There are two components of DDP: seven weekly classroom sessions and a screening instrument to determine if a participant should be evaluated for treatment of an alcohol or other drug problem.
For most motorists attendance at the DDP gives them the advantage of a conditional license with limited driving privileges while attending the program. Following program completion, which may include treatment, full driving privileges are restored.
The cost of the program is $225 and is held on Monday or Thursday evenings at the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council. To sign up for the program the participant must visit their local DMV.
